My first experiences with cats come from my childhood when, as a young girl, I was spending my holiday at my grandmother's place. I remember those cats as small fluffy creatures which played with me. After that unforgettable holiday, I kept on asking parents for purchasing me a cat but they were irreconcilable. Many years later, my husband as a person who had always had some animals at home (a dog and fish), said definite no to any animals in our house. But once, about twelve years ago, as he left with our children for a trip to France, I gave them surprise. When they returned, they found at home an European Cat which looked similarly to those cats from cartoons with its beautiful white socks and white "tie". It was Gerwazy, or rather Gerwazunia, because it was female. She spent with us eleven wonderful years because, fortunately, my husband did not feel like turning her into the street. When she died, I believe it was a destiny that we saw a picture of a beautiful Siberian female from the cattery Impresario in Lublin. We fell in love with her as soon as we had seen her picture. Her name is Dido and she has been a member of our family for about one year. Her aristocratic behaviour, long "talks" or warm greetings make us laugh and feel happy. Fionka Gekko came from Warsaw and she has been living with my daughter Kasia and her husband Lech in Wrocław since December 2005. Both Kasia and Lech did not want to live without cats - which is quite obvious, because Lech has always had some pets in his family house. First, two sisters (Plamka and Szara) moved into their house - the couple purchased both cats because they could not decide which one is sweeter. Then, they made a decision to purchase the sacred Birman cat because they knew that this breed loves the company of people. If somebody wants a cat to cuddle, it is a good idea to choose a Birman - it shows a lot of affection. Birmans with their blue eyes and fluffy tails seem to be magical. Everyone knows that having four cats is something definitely better than having only three, so Kasia and Lech purchased one more. It was Onyks White Star. He came from Poznań and at the very beginning he showed girls that he is the "boss" and the females are subordinate to him. This gorgeous tom is closely attached to my daughter and he lives mainly in her bedroom. He loves playing, singing serenades for females and, together with Plamka, admiring the world from the window sill. Observing joyful life if cats brings a lot to the monotony of our life and makes us smile every day.
